Antares just released its new flagship tuner, with an engine built to keep a singer's vibrato and a live mode under 1 ms. Here's what's new, what it costs, and who should buy it.
On September 24, 2026, Antares released AutoTune Advanced, a new top-of-the-line version of the most famous vocal plug-in in music. The pitch is simple: tune a vocal as hard as you want and keep the singer's natural vibrato. That has been the main complaint about pitch correction since 1997.
"Since 1997, the complaint about pitch correction has been the same: it takes the singer out of the singing," Antares CEO Jeff Wright said in the launch announcement. "That's the problem DVA was built to solve."

What is AutoTune Advanced?
AutoTune Advanced is a real-time vocal tuning plug-in. Antares rebuilt the main automatic tuning engine (Auto-Mode) from the ground up and calls it the biggest engineering investment in the algorithm since AutoTune first came out.
It now sits at the top of a three-product lineup:

What does DVA actually do?
DVA is Antares' new vibrato engine (patent pending). It listens for the singer's vibrato and lets it pass through while the notes still lock to pitch.
Before this, a fast retune speed would flatten a held note into that robotic, straight-line sound. Sometimes that's the effect you want. Often it isn't, especially on R&B, gospel, country and ballad vocals where the vibrato is the emotion.
With DVA you can:
- Keep the singer's own vibrato through heavy correction
- Cut or boost it by ear, with Narrow/Wide shaping
- Add vibrato where there was none, as a creative effect
- See it, on a real-time vibrato display
Sweetwater's hands-on write-up says the engine visibly "backs off" the moment it hears vibrato, and that the artifacts that used to show up at aggressive settings are gone.
Can you use it live?
Yes. This is the part live performers should look at. Advanced has three latency modes:
- Live: under 1 millisecond, at every sample rate from 44.1 kHz to 192 kHz
- Low Latency: for everyday studio tracking
- High Quality: best sound, for final mixes (not for monitoring)
Under 1 ms is low enough that a singer won't hear a delay in their in-ears. For anyone running AutoTune on stage or tracking with it printed on the way in, that matters more than any new feature.

Should independent artists buy it?
Honestly? Probably not yet, unless one of these is true:
- You perform live with tuning. The sub-1 ms Live mode is the real upgrade.
- You track singers who have strong vibrato and your current tuner keeps flattening it.
- You already pay for AutoTune Unlimited. Then it's just there. Try it.
