Willy Chavarria has unveiled his World Cup collection with adidas, releasing it exclusively through the Swap storefront — a debut that places one of American menswear's most distinctive voices squarely inside the most-watched sporting event on the planet.

The collection extends Chavarria's long-running design vocabulary: elevated, slightly oversized cuts, dignified silhouettes, and references that draw openly from Chicano culture, working-class tailoring, and the visual language of his Central Valley roots. According to the announcement, the line explores themes of identity, heritage, belonging, and contemporary design — the same throughline that has anchored Chavarria's collaborations with Calvin Klein, Adidas Originals, and his own eponymous label.

What makes this drop notable beyond the design is the distribution. By releasing through Swap's commerce platform rather than a traditional retailer push, Chavarria and adidas are betting on a model that gives the designer a more direct line to buyers — and gives the World Cup tie-in a single, focused storefront instead of being scattered across a dozen wholesale partners.

It's also a reminder that Chavarria, who has spent years being framed as an independent menswear darling, is now operating at full global-brand scale. The CFDA Menswear Designer of the Year for 2023 has spent the years since steadily building out collaborations that put his point of view in front of audiences that don't read fashion press. A World Cup capsule, on a tournament watched by billions, is the logical next step.

The exclusive Swap launch positions the collection as both a fashion drop and a piece of sporting culture, available while the world is watching.
