Salomon dropped the ACS Pro A-COLD-WALL* (opens in a new tab) — a full rework of one of the brand's most divisive silhouettes, put through Samuel Ross' post-industrial filter.
The base is the ACS Pro, the wide, aggressive trail shoe Salomon has been quietly turning into a fashion staple for the last three years. The A-COLD-WALL* (opens in a new tab) treatment keeps the shape and rips everything else apart: a floating cage structure, asymmetrical lacing, Matryx® Kevlar® mesh upper, distressed eyelets, and a grain-textured midsole. It's deconstruction as design language — a Salomon that looks like it was built in a foundry, not a lab.

That 14 oz weight and 10 mm drop put it squarely in trail territory, but nothing about the styling is aimed at the trail. The distressed eyelets and asymmetrical lacing are pure ACW — this is a runway shoe with a Contagrip outsole underneath.

The on-foot shot shows what this shoe is actually for: worn with baggy denim shorts and an orange crewneck, backstage on a concrete stairwell, mic in hand. It's a music shoe.
