PremRock only makes a solo album when he has something to say. Did You Enjoy Your Time Here…? is that album
Four years after Load Bearing Crow's Feet, the ShrapKnel co-founder returned with a record stitched together by Willie Green and stacked with Backwoodz regulars.

Backwoodz's announcement for Did You Enjoy Your Time Here…? doubles as a note on how artists actually work. Some rappers record constantly and release a trickle. Some vanish for years and then hand in a finished album nobody knew existed. PremRock, per the label, is the tireless one — always touring, always guesting, no throwaways — but his solo albums arrive rarely and land heavy.
This one came almost four years after 2021's Load Bearing Crow's Feet, his Backwoodz debut, and was announced for release on March 21 with pre-orders opening on a Bandcamp Friday.
The credits tell the story
Production comes from Sebb Bash, Blockhead, YUNGMORPHEUS, Child Actor, Controller 7, ELUCID, Small Professor, Jeff Markey and Fines Double, with longtime collaborator Willie Green mixing everything into one continuous voice. That is a lot of hands for a record that reads as intimate, and Green's work is why it does not fragment.
Guests: Pink Siifu, billy woods, Cavalier, Nappy Nina, Illogic, AJ Suede, Mary Esther Carter and Curly Castro, Prem's other half in ShrapKnel. The label makes a point that these are collaborations rather than drop-in verses.
The cover art is original work by Chicago artist Gabe Karagianis, made in response to the record.
Where it sits
If ShrapKnel is the loud room, Prem's solo work is the quiet one — clear-eyed, funny in a dry way, and unsentimental about aging inside an underground scene. The full announcement is on the Backwoodz news blog (opens in a new tab), and the album lives here (opens in a new tab).
